IWD 2025 - For All Women

Back to Blogs

At Major Players, gender equality isn’t just a goal - it’s a commitment that informs everything we do. With 70% of our team identifying as women, we are proud to have built an inclusive and supportive environment where female and non-binary talent is able to thrive.

We know that isn’t the case for all – as evident in the fact 120,000 women have left the creative industries in the last 2 years alone. At Major Players, our continued commitments towards equality for all, is paramount, and this IWD we wanted to highlight some of the activations that support our people, candidates and communities:

o   Earn Your Worth – the pay gap in the creative industries currently sits at 10.1%, although we expect this to have widened by the time we produce our 2025 Census (due April) – and as part of our Earn Your Worth campaign, we never ask our candidates to divulge their salary history. We believe asking for salary history perpetuates gender, ethnicity, sexuality, and disability inequality; and allows for unconscious bias to take control. We also encourage all of our candidates to understand their true worth through out Salary Census reports.

o   Flexible Working Policies - almost a third of our workforce are parents. Many use our flexible working arrangements to balance their home and work life and can request this from day one.

o   Enhanced Maternity Pay – primary care givers have access to enhanced pay during their maternity leave based on their length of service. By taking an average of their earnings over a 12-month period provides employees with more financial stability.

o   Dedicated Return-To-Work Coaching – we have been partnering with Laetitia Gordon-Furse from Spring Back to help support seven staff members returning from maternity leave – including coaching sessions and personalised plans. We also use Bloom UK’s Maternity Leave Playbook which provides advice to women pre and post maternity leave.

o   Nursery Fee Support – we recently introduced a new benefit, paying nursery fees directly to the nursery, saving tax and NI for parents with children aged up to 5; saving between £4000-8000 annually (based on £1000 a month nursery fees)

International Women’s Day is an important moment to reflect and push for change, but our commitment to gender equality goes far beyond one day. Real progress comes from continuous action, and we will keep driving this forward by championing fair pay, flexible working, and return-to-work support.

We also understand that real change happens when we collaborate, share knowledge, and uplift one another. That’s why we’re excited to build on the insights from our IWD 2025 Navigating Your Job Search & Career webinar by sharing expert advice next week on job market strategies, networking, and leveraging transferable skills.
