Job description
Digital/ Web Designer (SaaS)
I'm looking for a talented designer who can help produce a best-in-class marketing website and visual brand for a UK-based SaaS company, which enables business leaders to build and share real-time KPI dashboards that improve team performance.
You'll be the sole designer, working with the marketing team to produce web pages, which impact customer decisions, and live in the memory. The expectation is that you can elevate the company website and visual identity from 'good enough' to 'outstanding'.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently and have sophisticated views on what makes great web design. You'll understand it's about more than just making pages look good - it's about communicating information effectively, considering both user needs and business priorities, and projecting an overall brand image.
You'll have experience with (or a strong interest in) designing marketing for software products. You will know how to design web pages that help users understand how software works and how it will create value for them.
Responsibilities
- Work with the marketing team to design (and redesign) web pages and the website.
- Develop, manage and the brand visual identity, across channels.
- Design branded assets for other marketing channels, such as social assets, online ads, branded assets for video, and a range of other content marketing tactics.
- Conduct user testing to spot opportunities and understand the effectiveness of your work.
- Be responsible for (and clearly communicate) your own design process and deliverables.
Requirements - technical and working style
- Proven experience designing websites. Preferably in-house, for a software product, where you've owned marketing design.
- Exceptional visual design skills with an eye for detail and quality
- Understands and demonstrates website design best practices, particularly relating to layout, typography, color, and how to showcase software products.
- Understands how design supports brand
- Enjoys user testing, with a genuine desire to understand the product and our customers.
- Not afraid to share ideas and get feedback early - even if they're sketches.
- Collaborative, manages feedback well, and is open to exploring alternatives as part of your process. (But knows when to push back, too.)
- Communicates clearly, particularly when it comes to briefing developers.
- Gets stuff done.
Nice to have:
- Basic HTML / CSS / Javascript
Remote / hybrid work
The client supports remote work, but also has a small office near Liverpool Street in London. You can choose to work fully remote (providing you can attend occasional in-person meetings), or you can choose to come into the office on the days that suit you.
**PLEASE NOTE - While this role is Remote - You must be based in the UK and have a UK Right To Work - Please do not apply if you do not meet this requirement.
